Spike's Life Story

I started out life as a very sad and sick kitten. I don't have a great memory of those times, and i figure that is a fortunate thing.

You see, my boy and girl are not my first humans.

Small Beginnings

I was parted from my mother at siblings at a very young age (the girl human thinks this is why i am a bitey cat ... maybe there is something to that?), and i went to live with two older humans. They did not really understand me all that well ... after all, i was a wee little kitten!

I wasn't quite the whirling ball of energy that i am now, however. At the time i was a very sick little cat. I had then, and still have, Upper Respiratory Tract Infection. When i was a kitten, i was so sick that i almost died from it. So the old humans took me to the cold scary place and left me there. I think they said something about me going to sleep, which to my fuzzy little mind seemed like a good thing. One of the girls in the cold scary place thought i wasn't all that sick, though, and though i might make a good kitty for her roommate.

Alas, before that happened, i got better, and the old humans came back to get me. Little did they know that for me, better means that i turn into a WHIRLING BALL OF ORANGE ENERGY, complete with sharp teeth and a quivering tail!

I don't think that they handled that very well. A little while later, they brought be back to the cold scary place, thinking that if i went there maybe i would go to sleep and leave them alone.

That's when the girl who worked at the cold scary place brough me home to her roommate -- who is now one of my humans. The worker girl brought my girl human in to see me. I was small, orange and furry, and did my best to look cute so that they would take me away from the cold scary place!

And they did!

Life at Love Crescent

The two girls and i lived on a street called Love Crescent, with one other cat named Pandora (that's her to the right).

Pandora is a big old cranky kitty. I don't think that she quite understood me either, especially when i turned into a WHIRLING BALL OF ORANGE ENERGY! I would try to play with her, and she would just hiss, swat and run away! But boy, did we ever get into some wonderful fights, me and her!

My days were spent snoozing on the couch, teasing Pandora, and indulging the humans as they tried to get me to bite less. It was a good life.

Then, the big change happened!

My Boy and Girl Human -- Together at Last!

Two years ago, my boy and girl human decided that it was time that they both became my servants! Can i tell you how happy i was? The boy human is my favorite person in the world -- he is fun to play with and to snuggle with at night.

Joy, bliss -- now i get to live with my two favorite humans in the world. We live in a house with lots of stairs to run up and down. There is a basement with lots of fun places to explore! There is a back yard with grass that i get to run about in (on a leash! humpf). And best of all, my humans are here to take care of me and make sure i am warm and that my belly is always full.

I sill miss Pandora, even though she would never play with me, it was nice to have another cat around. She is living with another human in another house -- i hope that she is okay.

Well, that is about it -- my life thus far!
