Maura And Terry's Wedding in Pictures

Maura and Terry were wed on June 9th, 2002, at Fantasy Farm, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They shared their wedding day with family and friends -- due to the love shared on that day, it truly proved to be the most wonderful day of their lives.

Our story starts with a boy and a girl -- Terry and Maura. Little did the innocent babies pictured here know that they would be destined to marry, on a sunny day in June, 2002.

On the day of the wedding, Maura and her Maid of Honour, Angela McConnachie, made their way to Rita's salon, to begin the process of primping for the wedding.

Rita did a fabulous job, and her witty banter made for an excellent start to the wedding day!

The process is complete! Maura emerges from her boudoir, ready for the wedding!

On the way to the wedding in a fabulous white car, chauffered by Michael Leone, one of the family's friends. Maura realizes, looking back at this photo, just how short she is!

Fantasy Farm comes complete with an Austin Powers bridal suite. This red carpeted and white leathered suite comes complete with a round furry bed! Mrrrooow!

The guests begin to arrive for the ceremony. It was a beautiful sunny day, but perhaps a little too warm for some of the guests sitting directly in the sun.

Before the ceremony, the Fathers pose for photos and discuss the merging of the two families -- what a happy day!

The band starts playing Clarke's Trumpet Voluntary, and Maura's dad walks her down the aisle. Despite all the comments that she looked very calm, she was quite nervous at the time!

Terry waits at the altar for his bride, with his Best Man Sean Jennings, and the officiant, Kerwin Davies.

At the altar, David Daffern takes leave of his daugther, and the ceremony begins.

The Goblet: the drinking of the wine symbolizes that as the bride and groom are nourished by the fruit of the vine, it is hoped that their marriage will be enriched in the sharing of their love.

Maura and Terry listen as Stacy Taves reads 'The Meaning'.

The Marriage vows are said, and Terry places the ring on Maura's finger.

Sealed with a kiss! Maura and Terry are now husband and wife!

Being the symbol of love, the bride and groom symbolize the bringing of their love into the marriage. After the pronouncement of marriage, the bride and groom (by the, husband and wife) are given a rose each which they would then proceed to exchange -- symbolizing the giving and the acceptance of each other's love. Both husband and wife are then invited to share their love with someone special to them -- presenting the roses to each other's mother.

Giddy with happiness -- both of them thinking, "Wow, we did it!"

Walking back down the aisle, happy that we are now married!

While the official photos were being taken, some of the guests decided to have fun with the suits of armour that were in the wedding hall!

After an hour and a half of photos in the sun, Maura and Terry make their entrance into the wedding reception.

Happy to be married, and happy to be sitting down!

Angela and her boyfriend Chad at dinner. Since we only had 1 attendant each, we invited their partners to join us at the head table. Chad was extremely helpful on the wedding day. Thanks Chad!

The best man and his wife -- Sean and Romnia Jennings!

The Bretz family enjoying the dinner.

Maura's parents, grandmother and cousins from England at the reception. Maura's grandmother, and her father's cousins came from England to attend the wedding -- they were tonnes of fun!

We had a kissing dice at the wedding -- Minne (Maura's Grandmother) found rolling the dice to be quite entertaining. Minne was the hit of the wedding -- she is such a sweet, fun person!

The boys of the Sailboat table! Each table was according to a symbol of summer. The sailboat table proved to be the most rowdy, singing songs of love in big booming voices, to get the bride and groom to kiss.

Elvis visited the wedding! A tradition amoung Terry's friends is to present a bust of Evils as a token of good luck for the newlyweds. Martha, Mike, Joanne and Kirsty serenaded the bride and groom with an Elvis tune!

A view of the wedding hall. It was a wonderful location, and a fantastic day.

Maura's father delivering a heartfelt speech. He is truly a wonderful speaker, and his speech was very moving for the Maura and Terry.

Terry's dad, Al Bretz, originally didn't want to speak at the wedding. He changed his mind, and we are so glad that he did. He brought us all to tears, and is truly a sweet and wonderful man.

Maura and Terry listening to the speeches, overwhelmed by the love they feel for their friends and family.

The first dance!

Friends blowing bubbles at the newly wed couple. This photos is especially funny, because Martha (in the red) stands by looking amused at the bubble blowing!

Mike and Colleen blowing bubbles in unison.

After the traditional dances, the floor was opened up! Martin and Carol Tewkesbury had quite a good time, and tore up the dance floor.

Woo hoo! Dancing fun!

Maura and Terry's uncle Horst -- who is such an accomlished polka dancer, that he was able to lead the ordinarily two left footed Maura in some well executed polkas!

Maura being spun by her brother, who was drunk off his rocker, and had quite a good time spinning around the dance floor.

The wedding cake!

Cutting the cake -- it was actually really hard to cut through!

Terry's cousins at the wedding! Heidi, Haike, and Ian. :D
